I had the house fried rice. It was great tasting and the serving portion was great. I told my wife about it. I'll be going back today.

Mediocre Chinese food

Please note that all seven highly positive reviews of this restaurant are from the same user. Unfortunately, I didn't notice that before I ordered. I just saw a bunch of great reviews. The takeout was bland. I have to say, the breaded shrimp were the worst I've ever eaten. The batter was far too thick and dry, dry, dry. As is getting to be the case with many Chinese food restaurants, ordering takeout usually means a huge amount of rice and very little else. This was true of Canton House. The delivery person was nice, but I have to say, I won't be eating here again. I may never eat battered shrimp again. Oh well, I won't be fooled by a bunch of positive reviews again.

soup broth is full bodied and home made. Spring rolls home made daily. Great portions, and lemon chicken includes real lemon slices.

Great price, Great variety of food , Great Service and Great Atomspherre. Great effort put in the years of this restaurant and also a award winning restaurant for years.

The Canton House dining room is still the familiar warm place it has been for years. The owner gave me personal service that was excellent! The food quality was excellent and the portion was HUGE! It was too much to eat, I took home nearly half my meal! SUPER value if you want two meals. Their dinner combos are under $10. My only criticism might be that they use too much food coloring in the Lemon Chicken. The lemon sauce would be great without the coloring because it's the only place that I know that cooks and serves the lemon chicken with real lemons! The Chinese tea was also very good. This is the best kept dining secret in Welland!

Some of the best and freshest chinese food I have ever had. Doesn't even compare to buffet, you get more food than you can possibly eat, the food is freshly made, and you can take home the leftovers. If you go with a bunch of people, everyone gets a won ton soup, an egg roll or a spring roll, chicken friend rice, and then picks a main dish. The food is shared with everyone. It is like your own personal buffet. Plus it is only about $10 a person.

There is no restaurant anywhere that makes a blackpepper chicken that melts in your mouth like this all the food is excellent My only gripe is they stopped making their own plum sauce and I miss their smorg We send for take-out quite often

We're amazed that there is this little gem of a Chinese Restaurant in the small town of Welland. The food was superb and comparable to anything in New York or Toronto. The friendly service was impeccable. You folks who live in Welland are lucky!
