Is there anything more comforting than macaroni and cheese on a winter day? The answer is a resounding NO. That's why, just last year, restaurant team Le Cheese Truck created Mac & Cheese Week in Montreal. The second annual edition of this tradition takes place from March 7 to 13, 2016. If you’re a fan, check out the following handful of participating restaurants.
Take this opportunity to visit Monkland Avenue to try their Batman macaroni (yes, Batman!), which includes bacon, avocado, tomato and white cheddar cheese. Once you get there, you may want to ask them, “Why Batman?”
These “bad kids" on Bernard Avenue in Outremont are happy to offer one of Chef Simon Laborde’s creations: macaroni and cheese "augmenté" (a.k.a. taken to the next level). Their take on mac and cheese features cheddar, mozzarella, parmesan, kale and bacon. Yes, I want it.
Here, mac and cheese is served in a small pot, similar to the way a classic French onion soup is served. And do you know what? It's just as good!
Taverne Gaspar is preparing a special dish for you for the 2016 mac and cheese event: bacon, cream, shallots, cheddar cheese and peas will accompany your pasta.
The chef prepares dishes according to his own inspiration, but you can always rely on the menu’s signature macaroni and cheese, which includes spicy sausage and peas.
This small restaurant on Saint Paul Street in Old Montreal prepares highly esteemed macaroni and cheese made with pasta, cheesy sauce, mushrooms, caramelized onions and truffle tapenade. Everything is served au gratin and breadcrumbs are sprinkled on top. Yes, it's decadent.
This small pub on des Seigneurs Street offers a very, very cheesy macaroni and cheese, with aged cheddar, La Sauvagine and 14 arpents cheese, produced in Quebec. Yum!
