I love this place! It's a small store front family restaurant. As we walked in the door, on the left, is a huge fish shaped menu, virtually from floor to ceiling and hand printed in chalk. It took several minutes to read but was well worth the time. We were greeted by the proprietor, Darcy, who showed us to our table. We talked for a bit and discussed the menu as she described her featured items. I asked about the chips (french fry style). She uses fresh, hand cut, russet potatoes deep frying them to a shade darker than golden brown. These are the chips I have only dreamed of, since childhood, so many years ago. (Today, almost all are frozen, yuck.) The white fish is from the deep cold waters of the Northern Great Lakes No bones about it. The caesar salad was crisp with a tasty dressing. My double order of fish and chips were good for two but perfect for me. No regrets! The cold slaw was finely chopped and delicious Although this is an older building, the washrooms were clean and tidy. We were only in the Wiarton area a total of four days but we liked the fish and chips so much, we went back for a second dinner. Read more

6 of us went to Memories Restaurant for my birthday celebration. The atmosphere is great, they had a fun trivia game going for those who wanted to participate in the bar/lounge area and the restaurant seating area is open and welcoming. Our server Samantha was very attentive and was able to answer all our questions about our meal choices. Our meals were so wonderful and very flavorful, the taste is something to experience. We were served by Angus. Very friendly and gave us a lot of toruistic information on Collingwood and Blue Mountain. First and foremost we truly enjoyed our meal here. The complimentary bruschetta was a nice treat. Our server seemed a litte "put out" that we had one young child with us who was trying to figure out what she wanted as there is definitely no children's menu here, but once she decided on something we were AOK. I did call ahead to make sure they could accomodate children and they said no problem. The half portion of pasta she had was more than enough, and the chef was very accomodating. My 13 year old had the fettucini Alfredo which she orders all the time and she said it was exceptional. There was enought leftovers for her to 2 more servings at home! My husband and I had appetizers which were exceptional and we both enjoyed our meals. We also shared a half litre of wine. The chef brought some of our dishes and he was very friendly and attentive. My husband always enjoys this as he is a trained chef as well. What I noticed was that his chef whites were gleeming! This is a nice touch, as I have had chefs come to the table with dingy whites, or in one instance, looked like he had just butchered something! Overall, we will go back. As a Nova Scotianer, and someone who went to chef school, I have to say that Duffy's makes the best (haddock) fish and chips in the area if you don't feel like traveling to Sauble Beach. I know fish and chips. Grew up on the stuff. My uncles were all fishermen and their sons still are. Duffy's is REALL good. The wine spritzer was also excellent. The service was perfect. Read more
