The food, service, atmosphere was excellent!! The menu changes monthly, offering traditional Italian dishes from a different region of Italy with a guest chef. If you want an authentic Italian meal, then this is the place to go!
everything was wonderful. a very good experience...i cannot wait to go back!
My second visit and probably my last. A bit too much ego, high prices and food that doesn't excite. Nice environment and the tables are well spaced. Waiters trying to use an Italian accent when pronouncing the dishes is irritating. Service is too slow. Out of all the dishes I have eaten there I only loved a couple including a little green apple and horseradish crostini they served to everyone at the table. I had a chicken dish that was BORING. Quail that was BLAND. Bean soup with beans that were TOO FIRM. Weak wine list and they were sold out of two that we picked leaving us to order a sweet and fruity loser that we sent back. Nice to get the family together but next time we'll be trying someplace else.
Fantastic atmosphere, good service and the food was very well done. We cannot wait to get back for some more delecious regional Italian cuisine!
After visiting many of downtown Guelph's restauarants weekly this summer, we finished off with La Cucina, and our choice as an end to our gastronimic tour of Guelph could not have been better. Our server was Andrew, who was extremely professional, yet still exceptionally friendly. Their regional dishes are changed seasonally and offered in three courses (which you don't have to purchase all of.) Each course i tasted was excellent, and the menu, although small (as is the norm for a small upscale restaurant) i still found to be diverse enough to accomodate many different tastes. The wine list was suitably large, and the wine we purchased (although i forget what it was) was delicious. We were impressed enough with the restaurant that we stayed willingly for three full hours, a half hour spent at the end talking with out witer and the head chef. Excellent atmosphere, and i fully recommend this restaurant for a fine dining experience.
