The Boat House Restaurant

Went for lunch today with my husband, son and grandson. Was 20 minutes away from obtaining a free kids meal for my 2 year old grandson. Was at the restaurant at 1:40pm and not 2:00pm when feee meal kicks in. They wouldn’t honour this. We are locals and will go to other places in the area from now on. We’re frequent patrons. Will not return.

The food is always fresh. Perch is local and they make their tartar sauce in house so it's a perfect dish! The staff is friendly, and even when they're busy and understaffed they work their hardest to be attentive and quick. Always have a good time here!

The Club House was OK. Nothing to write home about. Fries were frozen and a little over done. The kicker is the patio atmosphere. There is an apartment above the restaurent, overlooking the patio, and there was a guy hanging out near the window with the worst hacking cough you've ever heard. We heard about fifty coughs. The next thing that caught our eye was a cook or dishwasher came out the side door, ran up to town and bought a Pizza. When we left he was having his lunch outside. Pizza from somewhere else. What does that tell you.

We were extremely disappointed in the quality of food. The fish was overdone and tasted like Highliner and the fries tasted like McCain. Nothing was fresh about our dinner. We would never recommend this restaurant. Save the 30 dollars and go to a chip wagon.. you'll at least get fresh cut fries.

Service was quick, and personable. Nice people. Food could be a little better quality, especially since their prices are a little higher than most. Totally understandable being in a touristy town, but if you are going to charge more, your food should be better quality.
