With its signature beach chairs displayed on the sidewalk, fresh food, great coffee and easy going vibe, it’s no wonder that Brooklyn Café has quickly established itself as the perfect spot for a breakfast on the go or a quick lunch.
Brooklyn’s Café owner, Natalie van Westrenen, confirms this, saying that “with video game, fashion and entertainment companies and a lot of artist's studios around, the bulk of our clientele consists of people stopping by in the morning or sitting at the bar for a quick lunch before returning to work.’’
The café’s 15 seats quickly fill up in the morning and at lunchtime, when workers from the creative industry choose to relax a bit in the well-designed space or opt for a take-out order.
Why is it that I love Brooklyn so much? Is it the kindness of its owner Nathalie (nicknamed Brooklyn), the labneh bread, the smoked trout plate, the tasty and comforting mezzés, the porridge bowls, the generous lattes, or the vintage decorative items in the café? It must be a bit of everything. And this is undoubtedly my true Montreal love!
